Abstract

The problems of the freedom of thought and freedom of religion in Russia are discussed. It
is shown that as a result of the realization of the concept of «Russian World» in domestic and
foreign policy, Russia has put at risk the capability for realization of rights and freedoms of
citizens not only on the occupied and annexed territories but also inside the country. It is noted
that the concept of «Russian World» is disintegrating, destructive, discriminatory, disastrous
for Russian authorities. It (the concept) does not reflect the geopolitical, economic, religious
and demographic situation in Russian Federation today. The violations of human rights and
freedoms, constitutional principles of secularism of the state are taking place. Public authorities
are merging with Russian Orthodox Church. Clericalization of the state ideology and returning
to the traditions of church-state relations of the Russian Empire are taking place.
