Holy Bible and Scythian and Cimmerian problem

Abstract

Holy Bible testimony about deportation of Hebrew population (Ten Lost Tribes) to
the Assyrian Empire is examined. Cuneiform scripted sources about quantitative ratio of
Israelites withdrawn then are analyzed. The assumption is made that besides Media and
adjacent territories, part of Israelites could have been deported – through Caucasus – to the
west of Ukrainian Forest-Steppe – to Podilia and adjacent regions i.e. to the territory of
early Cimmerians. «New Motherland» for Cimmerians in Western Asia – Gamirra state –
became Assyrian province Amurru – lands, situated in Northern Syria and north-western
Mesopotamia. Conclusion is made about cause-and-effect connection between appearance
in this period (714 B. C.) of the first written record about Cimmerians in Western Asia, who
in that period (before 679 B. C.) could have been vassals of Assyria, and deportation of
Hebrew population to «Median cities» and adjacent regions. An opinion of A. Kristensen
about inclusion of Cimmerian military units into Assyrian army is confirmed. Conclusion is made about possible participation of Cimmerians (as convoy or escort) at the second
migration of captive Israelites from Median lands – through Caucasus – to North-Western
part of Black Sea region.
