Evangelical Lutheran and Evangelical Reformed denominations in the policy of the Russian Empire
Abstract
It is shown that legislative regulation of the Protestant denominations during XIX c.
created normal conditions for their development. It is alleged that this policy was based on
belief of authorities in greater usefulness of these denominational groups than harm.. The sharp
changes in government policy towards Protestant denominations occurred at the beginning
of the First World War.
