Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of functioning of Kiev=Ruthenian elite in formation
the image of St. Kiev as a spiritual capital of the eastern Europe and religious centre
(The New Jerusalem) of Slavs with Bizantium. In this article the typology of religious
elites, their cooperations with political and military elites in strengthening and centralization the authority around Kiev are considered.
