The peculiarities of terminology in describing the iconostasis in the vizitatine acts of uniate churches in Belarus at the end of the 17 th - first hale of 19 th century

Abstract

The Peculiarities of the description of the iconostasis and the use of special terminol-
ogy for their determination in the protocols of inspections Uniate churches in Belarus
in the late 17 – beginning of the 19 centuries are considered. The research based
on asynthesis of information from a number of historical documents that highlight
the state of about 2000 Greek Catholic churches. The most interesting examples of
archival sources is included in this article and in original language with preservation
of those days spelling.
